Motorola Moto C and C Plus Officially Launched, Starting At €89

Motorola Moto C and C Plus are finally official. The ultra-low cost smartphones come with a refreshed design language and multiple color options. Currently listed only on Motorola’s UK website, the Moto C and C Plus will soon launch in various countries across Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific including India. Coming to pricing, the Moto C lineup starts from €89 (Rs. 6,200 approx.), which is even lower than the Moto E series.

Motorola Moto C Specifications

This is the cheapest smartphone of 2017 from the Lenovo-owned company. The Moto C sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display. There are three capacitive touch buttons below the screen. Inside, the handset sits the MediaTek MT6737M SoC. The 64-bit quad-core processor has four Cortex A53 cores running at 1.1 GHz each. This is mated with a single core Mali T720 GPU clocked at 550 MHz.

The Motorola Moto C boots Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. There is 1 GB of RAM along with up to 16 GB of onboard storage. You can also add a micro SD card via the hybrid SIM tray. Measuring at 145.5 mm x 73.6 mm x 9 mm combined with a weight of 154 grams, the Moto C is not one of those sleek smartphones.
Camera-wise, the low-cost mobile has a 5 MP fixed focus rear shooter along with a 2 MP selfie unit. Both the cameras are assisted by dedicated LED flashes. Video recording is restricted to 720p at 30 fps.
Coming to connectivity, there are 3G and 4G LTE variants of the Moto C. Both of them come with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, A-GPS, micro USB 2.0 port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. A 2350mAh battery juices up the smartphone. The cheapest handset from Motorola will be available in Metallic Cherry, Pearl White, Fine Gold or Starry Black color choices.

Speaking of the pricing, the 3G version of the Moto C costs €89 (Rs. 6,200 approx.), while the 4G LTE model will retail at €99 (Rs. 6,950 approx.). Motorola hasn’t yet announced any specific release date of the smartphone. However, it is expected to launch in India within a few weeks.

The Moto C Plus is a slightly better-specced version of the Moto C. The former comes with a sharper display, significantly bigger battery, and a better rear camera than the latter. The Moto C Plus boasts a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display along with three capacitive touch buttons.

The MediaTek MT6737 powers up the smartphone. The 64-bit quad-core processor features four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz along with a Mali T720 GPU running at 650 MHz. This is mated with 1 GB or 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage. There is provision for a micro SD card too. The phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat preinstalled.
An 8 MP autofocus camera sits at the back of the Moto C Plus. This too can shoot 720p videos at 30 fps. The front snapper is a mediocre 2 MP unit.
The Moto C Plus measures at 144 mm x 72.3 mm x 10 mm and weighs at 162 grams. This additional weight is absolutely acceptable since there is a 4000mAh battery sitting inside the device.
Connectivity-wise, the phone is totally similar to the 4G LTE version of the Moto C. It comes with identical color choices too.

Motorola Moto C Plus Pricing and Availability

The 1 GB / 16 GB Moto C Plus costs just €119 (Rs. 8350 approx.). Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the price of the 2 GB RAM model, which should be around Rs. 9000 INR. The smartphone will soon launch in India along with the Moto C.
